26 February, 2018

On February 25, events dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of Artsakh liberation movement and Armenian massacres in Sumgait were held in Södertälje.

Solemn wreath laying ceremony was held at the cross stone located in the yard of the Armenian Apostolic Church Holy Virgin Mary.

The main political event held on the major hall of the church. Ambassador of Armenia to Sweden Artak Apitonian and representatives of Armenian community addressed to the audience.

In his speech Ambassador Apitonian highlighted the importance of the liberation movement and mentioned that it became a turning point in the history of the Armenian nation for creation an independent Motherland. He noted that Armenian massacres in Sumgait were an attempt to threaten Armenians for their fair demand of Artsakh’s reunification with Armenia.
