Newspapers

ARMENIAN NEWSPAPERS  AND PERIODICLES IN SWEDEN

Since the end of 20th century up to now eight Armenian periodicals have been published in Sweden. Most of them had short life.

The first periodical was «Qnnasere» magazine, which was published in 1887-88 in Stockholm (2 issues). The editor was Norair de Byzance and covered the issues of Armenian language and literature.

The «Aragil» periodical newspaper was published by Armenian Cultural Association of Uppsala in 1980 and had 3 issues.

The «Krunk» periodical was published by the Armenian Cultural Association of Stockholm in 1984.
The
«Mer Krunk» periodical was published by Armenian-Swedish Cultural Association of Sweden in 1984. The same Associaltion has published the «Baleni» newsletter in 1985-1986.

The «Hyusisapayl» newsletter, later yearbook was published irregularly from 1994 to 1996 in Upsala.

The «Raffi» newsletter was published by Raffi Cultural Association in 1987.

The «Nor Horizon» official newspaper of the Union of Armenian Associations in Sweden has been published irregularly since 1984. Between 2003 and 2013 the newspaper was not published. The last issue was published on 26th of September 2013. The articles were both in Armenian and Swedish. It covered the life in Armenia, developments in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), published materials on Armenian community in Sweden and other communities of Armenian diaspora, articles dedicated to issues of Armenian nation and Armenian Apostolic church, etc.
