Meeting of Ambassador Apitonian with the Speaker of Finnish Parliament Maria Lohela

On August 27, the newly elected Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Maria Lohela received the Ambassador of Armenia to Sweden and Finland Artak Apitonian.

Ambassador Apitonian congratulated Maria Lohela on her election to the responsible post of the Speaker wishing her every success in her future endeavors.

The agenda of Armenian-Finnish bilateral relations was discussed during the meeting with mutual emphasize of the importance of expanding political dialogue between two countries. The sides expressed confidence that the Armenian-Finnish relations will continue their upward development in the coming years, for which there are all necessary prerequisites.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects of strengthening and deepening inter-parliamentary ties between Armenia and Finland bilaterally as well as within various international platforms.

Upon the request of the Speaker, Ambassador Apitonian introduced the Armenia-EU relations, situation in our region, and the latest developments in settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

On August 28, Ambassador Apitonian met also with the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Finland Mr. Samuli Virtanen. A wide range of issues concerning the Armenian-Finnish bilateral relations were discussed during the meeting.
