Meeting of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan with the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden

On July 29 within the framework of a working visit to New York, Vahan Kostanyan, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, held a meeting with Dag Hartelius, the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden.

During the meeting, the sides commended the dynamic development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Sweden, based on shared values and democracy. The willingness to enhance cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest has been reiterated, including cybersecurity, combating disinformation, and the field of nuclear energy.

Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan briefed his counterpart on the current state of cooperation in Armenia-EU relations, emphasizing the willingness of the Government of Armenia to further deepen relations with the EU. In this context, the importance of dialogue within the framework of the Armenia-Nordic-Baltic countries format was underlined.

During the meeting current regional and international developments have also been touched upon. The Deputy Minister briefed Dag Hartelius on the current situation regarding the Armenia-Türkiye and Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization processes.
