Armenian Genocide commemoration event at the Swedish Riksdag

On April 24, Armenian Genocide commemoration event was held at the Swedish Riksdag with participation of deputies, politicians, historians, journalists and representatives of the Armenian and Assyrian communities.

Second Deputy Speaker of the Riksdag Lotta Johnsson Fornarve, Ambassador of Armenia to Sweden Alexander Arzoumanian, Members of the Parliament Amineh Kakabaveh and Arin Karapet, Human Rights activist and publisher Ragip Zarakolu, as well as the representatives of theArmenian and Assyrian Associations delivered speeches at the event.

The speakers touched upon the importance of recognition and condemnation of genocides and crimes against humanity as an essential step to prevent future crimes.

Swedish-Armenian Haykani trio performed Armenian spiritual music.
