Meeting of Ambassador Apitonian with the Minister for Justice and Migration of Sweden Morgan Johansson

Ambassador of Armenia to Sweden Mr. Artak Apitonian met with the Minister for Justice and Migration of Sweden Mr. Morgan Johansson.

The prospects of development and implementation of bilateral cooperation programs in the field of justice, particularly the improvement of judicial and penitentiary systems, strengthening of civil society, human rights and fight against corruption were discussed during the meeting.

Ambassador Apitonian emphasized the importance of taking practical steps for the introduction in Armenia of the best practices of Sweden in the field of justice.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the substantial results achieved in cooperation between Armenia and Sweden in the field of migration, and discussed the perspectives of its further expansion. In that regard, the importance of drawing up by two countries of a bilateral implementing Protocol of the Agreement between the EU and Armenia on the readmission of persons residing without authorisation was emphasized.
